The festival is a preamble to the World Capital of Architecture in 2026

Barcelona will be the World Capital of Architecture in 2026, a project sponsored by UNESCO in which Rio de Janeiro and Copenhagen will have preceded the Catalan capital. To warm up for the event, the Barcelona City Council and Catalonia's College of Architects (COAC) promoted last year the MODEL Festival of Architectures, which this year reached its second edition and took place between 20 and 30 April with the concept of radical empathy as main pillar.

MODEL is a space for debate and celebration that brings experimental architecture closer to citizens and helps them rethink new urban and city models. As it did last year, DIPLOCAT has also collaborated in this second edition of MODEL, specifically in the field of international dissemination. In 2022, one of the architects writing for the ArchDaily websete was invited to follow the festival, and this year it was the turn of a freelance Croatian journalist who writes and publishes in the main media of his country.
