Opening of the fifth edition of the seminar on European funds
It will include a session on European funding opportunities within the framework of the New European Bauhaus
The fifth edition of the training seminar on European funds started today, organized by Catalonia International and the two municipal organizations that are part of the consortium, the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM) and the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC), with the collaboration of the Catalan Ministry of European Union and Foreign Action, the School of Public Administration of Catalonia (EAPC) and the Provincial Council of Barcelona.
The Minister of European Union and Foreign Action, Jaume Duch, opened the fifth edition online by emphasizing the importance of this training activity for local entities. The 133 participants were also welcomed by Laura Foraster i Lloret, secretary general of the Consortium; Meritxell Budó, president of the ACM and mayoress of La Garriga; Marc Solsona, vice president of the FMC and mayor of Mollerussa; Ismael Peña, director of the EAPC; and Antoni Montseny, director of International Relations at the Provincial Council of Barcelona.
The seminar, which will combine virtual sessions with two face-to-face sessions, will last until February 2025, with a total duration of 45 hours. The speakers will be experts from the European Commission and the Catalan Government, university professors and representatives of different local administrations with experience in the management of European funds.
The training program will pay special attention to the calls for Next Generation funds that are still available, in addition to the various programs and funds for the period 2021-2027. As well as a session on European funding opportunities within the framework of the New European Bauhaus, an EU initiative created to promote the architectural dimension and its value to improve the quality of life of towns and cities. Throughout the seminar, good practices in obtaining European funds in Catalonia will also be analyzed.
